Black Acre Brewing Company started in an unlikely place. Jordan and Justin, found each other in a law class they both were attending. They teamed up with more friends and started brewing. Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project
Founded in 2010 in Denver, Colorado, Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project is a culmination of Chad Yakobson's Master's research. Freigeist Bierkultur is located in Cologne, Germany. Since they are located in Germany they brew some of their beers according to The Reinheitsgebot, which is a beer purity law stating that only certain ingredients can be used. However, they also brew beers that are not in accordance with this law. Their name Freigeist means "free spirit" and this stands for how they create their beers; thinking differently, using unique ingredients, and sharing knowledge with other breweries.
The husband and wife team, Steve and Arlyn Llewellyn, own and run Function Brewing located in Bloomington, IN. They, "believe the best things in life are found in exploring and in taking risks with the way we always do things."
